About Us

ROBERT T. FELDMAN

  • Bob Feldman founded what is now known as Feldman Koenig Highsmith & Van Loon, P.A. in 1969. Before starting our firm, Bob served as a county solicitor and 16th Judicial Circuit State Attorney. Bob is a member of several professional associations. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of Boulevard Bank, Barnett Bank and NationsBank. Bob is also a past member of the Judicial Nominating Committee and past chairman of the 16th Circuit Grievance Committee.
  • Community Involvement — A U.S. Coast Guard Auxilary senior pilot, Bob has served in numerous leadership positions in many Key West organizations including the Key West bight Board, the Key West Art & Historical Society and the Military Affairs Committee.

TIMOTHY J. KOENIG

  • A Key West Native, Tim Koenig joined Robert T. Feldman P.A. in 1983 as an associate attorney. The following year he became partner in the newly formed practice of Feldman & Koenig, P.A. Prior to Tim moving back to Key West after graduating law school, Tim served as an assistant state attorney for the 15th judicial circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida.
  • Community Involvement — A member of numerous professional associations such as the Key West Association of Realtors, Florida Keys Youth Club, Cancer Foundation of the Florida Keys, The Rotary Club of Key West. Among many leadership positions in the community he served as district chairman of the Boy Scouts of America, as Chairman of the Key West Planning Board, as attorney for the Key West Bight Board and a Trustee of the South Florida National Parks Trust. Tim is also a past chairman of the Military Affairs Committee, St. Mary’s finance committee and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Centennial Bank.

ROBERT E. HIGHSMITH

  • Bobby joined Feldman & Koenig in 1996 as an associate attorney and was made partner the following year in Feldman Koenig & Highsmith, P.A. Before joining Feldman & Koenig, Bobby was an associate attorney with Miami firms Mershon, Sawyer, Johnston, Dunwody & Cole and Dunwody, White & Landon, a firm devoted exclusively to the practice of trusts and estate law. Bobby is Board Certified in Wills, Trusts and Estates by the Florida Bar.
  • Community & Professional Involvement — Bobby is a member of the Florida Bar Association’s Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section and the Monroe County Bar Association. He is on the Board of Directors of the Performing Art Centers of Key West (the “Tennessee Williams Theater”), and is a past member and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys. Bobby is currently serving as Chancellor and a member of the Vestry of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and is a member of the Key West Chamber of Commerce’s Military Affairs Committee.

DAVID VAN LOON

  • The newest partner in the firm, David joined Feldman Koenig Highsmith & Van Loon, P.A. in 2003. Becoming a partner in 2007, David focuses his practice in all areas of Civil Litigation, bringing with him extensive Court Room experience. David has also served as counsel for the Guardian Ad Litem, volunteering countless hours to the high risk youth of our community.
  • Community Involvement — David is a member of the Monroe County Bar Association, Key West Rotary Club, serving as chairman of the community service committee as well as the chairman for Rotary’s involvement in the World Sailfish Tournament, and was recently named to the Board of Directors. David is also a licensed Real Estate Sales Associate and member of the Key West Association of Realtors.
